Hi
I just received my MK808
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3210.....1497.l2649
That is the product i bought from ebay.
I am new to this but. It looks like a great piece of kit but I am having a few teething problems.
I am unable to control it using my android phone. tried Google tv remote and Able remote. but neither are able to find a Google TV device on the network. My Mk808 is definitely connected to my home network. Is the MK808 actually a Google TV device? or am I missing something in my attempts to pair mk808 with my phone.
I purchased a Measy RC12 to get some control over the Mk808. The touch-pad is not v accurate and frequently stops working altogether , requiring a reset to get it working again. When typing on it the letters frequently repeat. AA biiiiit lllllliiiiiike thiiiiiiiiiiis.
Have I got a duff RC12 or is it just a bit of cheap and nasty chinese junk?
The Mk808 could be a fantastic piece of kit but these issues are making it frustrating to control.
Any help or advice gratefully received.

Cheers
Derek

PS as the remote need the one USB input, I will need a USB Hub to also run the Hard drive that I have, powered or not? any recommendations?

Welcome to the forums derekmcl !
I recommend the logitech k400 wireless keyboard/touchpad, it works great..My airmouse from China does the same thing with repeating letters. Also most USB hubs work great on these, actually haven't heard of any that don't work, you just have to decide on powered or not, if your running a non-powered HD then go with a powered hub, understand?
I use a cheap $5 non powered usb hub and it works great!
Good luck let us know if you have any more questions..Cya around!

Thanks for your reply Max Powers.
I have looked at and considered the Logitech but first I thought I would try using my Android phone, as this was how it was advertised on eBay. Have you or any others managed to get this to work using "Able Remote " or any other method?.
My HD is USB-powered so probably will invest in a powered Hub.
Enjoying exploring the site, many thanks
Derek

hi
i finally managed to find an app that allowed me to control my mk808 with my mobile(xperia arc).It is called Agile Remote. You will need to server installed on the mk808 and the client on the phone. It is not without flaws but it is a definite starting point. Give it a try.
I have also purchased a logitech k400 and sent back the Measy rc12.

My mk808has started to complain that the SD card has been removed unexpectedly, not sure why this has started happening but it is becoming quite annoying. Anyone else experienced this?
Any thoughts on best/ preferred media player?
Cheers
Derek
