Hi all,

I'm Bennji, based in a currently very cold Liverpool in the UK, hope you are all well.

I bought an MK808 from a Chinese seller on ebay (ecgirl888) cost $80 (about £52) which included an air mouse.

It arrived about a week later and I had problems straight away, going into any app caused the device to freeze. Fortunately the seller was very helpful and suggested I used a 5v2A adapter (I was using a simple USB to power adapter that I had, couldn't use the one provided because it was not for the UK).Not having a clue what this meant I tried the USB to power adapter that came with my samsung phone (because it looked a bit better than the one I was using) and it worked perfectly.

I installed XBMC onto the device and Navi-X and found that streaming live films was virtually impossible, it kept freezing making films unwatchable. What I do as an alternative is to choose films I want to watch, download them as torrents to my hard drive and watch from there - it's a bit more fiddley but does the job.

I also get to watch live football (soccer - my team is Everton) using firstrowsports.eu after having installed the jellybean capable version of Flash player from the XDA forum.

So it does all the things I wanted it to when I bought it.

The downside:

The air mouse is horrendous, the keyboard is unusable because when you press one letter, multiple letters appear on the screen so I use the on screen keyboard which is a bit of a pain.

The full screen flash player has suddenly stopped working for some reason, it was working fine on Wednesday but just showed a blank screen today.

Finally, when I switch the off button on the mouse it looks like it goes into sleep mode on the device but I have no idea how to wake it without unplugging and restarting (I also can't find a reboot option)

Any ideas?

Update: I installed the finless 1.6 ROM and it's fixed most of my problems, the remote control app included is awesome, I now use my tablet to control the TV and it's perfect. I installed navi x and it seems to stream things perfectly (I've not been through a full film yet so I'll let you know when I do). There is also a shut down and reboot button, brilliant. I'm not going to bother with xbmc at the moment, to tell the truth I didn't like it much anyway.

Not tried the full screen flash problem yet but everton's next game is Wednesday, hopefully it'll be OK for that.

This rom really makes the device well worth the money, you can get it here
