hi here, I ordered a 808(+rc12) last weekend, it's shipped, so hope it arrives some day from China.... ;-)
love the video review by the way, makes me more enthousiastic about this thing!
got a few questions, some I saw already answered on the forum, but sorry, don't have time to read the full forum ;-)

I also ordered a usb hub, and a usb 2.0 to RJ45 cable.

So, can it be powered by a usb connector only?(to the mini-usb port) Is the mini usb port like with my phone, can be used for power, as well for data transfer?
Do I need the power adapter that comes with the device, or would any usb power connection suffice?
Would connecting it to my pc make it visible as an external drive on my pc?

So, when connecting a usb hub, there's no issue in connecting the usb/rj45 cable, together with a USB flash drive, and I'm also thinking of connecting a mini Bluetooth device... and perhaps an external HDD....The 808 will see all the 4 connections and I will be able to work with these??

Will a 2.5" HDD get power enough to work? A 3.5" I will need to power externally, I understand.

The usb-rj45 connection, how fast can it be? Fast enough to play the mkv of the famous bird scene in episode 1 of Planet Earth? :-)
that's a file of 4.6GB, When playing from my popcorn from the internal HDD, it shows 43Mbps video and 453 Kbps audio.
The 43 Mbps is extreme, The scene after with the icebears, takes it to about 6 Mbps. But a ethernet connection would go up to 100 Mbps I would suspect?
I'm not that technical, hope someone can confirm what's possible.

Then, I have a receiver which works as a HDMI switcher, so currently my Mediaplayer(Popcorn) is in there, my cablebox, my old HDD/DVD recorder, and I got a HDMI from my PC as well.. (One HDMI out cable from the receiver to my tv) So, would I be able just to plug it in, into my receiver HDMI ? I would prefer that, putting it in my cupboard, out of everybodies site. :-)

And, has anybody installed Sopcast already? It's not in the play store, but can be downloaded from sopcast.com, does it work properly?

I truly hope this device will work fine, currently I'm often connecting my pc to my tv, but, the HDMI audio needs to be switched on everytime time, no remote possibilty, when someone is on the pc, and I turn on the tv, the pc gets a black screen twice for a second or so... it's just not effecient.
My old popcorn has no browser on it, takes more than a minute to start up, hangs often(not during playing...), so that's going out soon I guess, better get a NAS and connect to the stick ;-)

thanks in advance for your feedback and time!h :)

I will answer what I can. First off, you need to use the USB power adaptor that it ships with. It delivers more amps than a standard USB conector. Many have tried to use there TV's USB to power it but it will crash a lot.
As far as SopCast is concerned. The latest version does work. But not perfectly. The video lags behind the audio by about a quater second. For myself this is still usable..
This is all that I can answer for you. Perhaps someone else can address your other questions.
