I haven't got one of these yet but should have one soon to test. If anyone has one yet then please write us a review. This device looks like a winner!

I'm considering buying one from Geekbuying right now, but I'm leaning more toward the MINIX NEO X5. It's nearly twice as expensive but the 3 USB ports, RJ45 hard-wired networking and really all the added ports will make for a much cleaner looking situation next to my TV and a much more useer-friendly experience.

Where are the FreeScale MX6 quad-cores that everyone was squawking about? We were supposed to see those at the beginning of Nov. but it seems that the whole show went fizzle pop hiss and died like a a moth in a bug zapper.

Ya, I think I'm gonna hold off. I need more power! The MK-808 that I have now is hugely more powerful than the previous generation but still a far cry from the latest Smart--phones. When the next-gen come out, I'll probably go with a TV-Box design for the wired networking (streaming HD without the stuttering!), clean appearance, ease-of-use, ports, ports, ports.

Why don't you get a usb hub for the mk808 giving you multi usb ports, also If you run the finless 1.5a custom firmware you can buy a usb rj45 from geekbuying port that allows it to be hardwired.

I have ordered an mx2 in the hope that wireless n routing is properly supported but after reading other forums guess I may have the same wifi problems as the mk808. I have modified my mk808 to increase signal strength and tried it on round various friends houses. What I have found is that if the signal strength does not stay at 3 out of 4 bars or higher then the mk808 drops signal down and internet speed is very poor. There are various places in my house that I have tested that this device wouldn't work and an rj45 device is not possible. To get full signal i need to be right on top of the router. I hope proper n wifi should solve this problem but read it may be down to the rk chipsets used meaning I may end up with another device that isnt fit for the purpose I wanted it for. I will post back as soon as it arrives.

What is the difference between this and the MX1?

I have an MX1 on order from DinoDirect.com, but thinking of canceling my order, as they are taking FOREVER.

I see a link on the right to purchase an mx2. IS that provided by the forums? Does it help you, Max?

I would love to do that.
I am in alabama, and would pay the extra for faster shipping...

Edit: Looks like DinoDirect is going to ship my order. I will let you know if and when it arrives.

Is the MX2 better than the MK808? If so, in what way?

The MX2 has bluetooth, as does the MX1. That, for a start, is different. Not sure what else.

I actually have a bluetooth keyboard that I bought for my phone a while back; I'm sure it would probably work.. Geez, now I really hope they cancel my order so I can get the MX2 instead!

That would be great!

Where did you order your MX2 from, and how long did it take to get it to your door? Oh, and where in the world are you? I am in the US (south) and it is taking forever to get my order from DinoDirect.com.

Thanks. And did you create a review / video?

Well, just a quick update on what hardware I bought and which direction I’m heading. I’ve been looking at several PC sticks and when the Imito MX2 came up on sale at In4Dealz for $53 shipped, I went for it. It took about 2 ½ weeks to get here from China. I also popped for the recommended Logitech K400 Bluetooth keyboard when it went on sale at $23 from Amazon.

It didn’t take much time setting my test system up other than finding the remote control and re-arranging my computer room. I have been using a 32 Visio TV as my monitor which I replaced with a 22’ lcd, but only temporarily. I do wear glasses for reading so I need a large screen.

My first impressions of the MX2: Very good with a couple disappointments. Easy Bluetooth setup. No Wi-Fi drops. Quick response in flipping pages, starting applications, communication with keyboard.

The disappointments were the inability to view both Hulu and Netflix content without getting subscriptions first. I’ve been accustomed to viewing Hulu for free (limited content) on my PC and just want to see a half hour or more of internet streaming, thru Wi-Fi then thru the MX2. There was very little documentation (only connection information) with the MX2.

I did easily view YouTube and videos on other sites with ease. Did internet browsing with Chrome. Used Google Maps. Accessed the hard-drive on my PC and was able to view files and navigate the directory structure. I’ve installed apps from the app store, which turned out to be very easy.

One annoying thing was using the touchpad on the keyboard. It is very sensitive. It will only take me some time to get used to it.

My next steps are:

1. Get Titanium Backup (was recommended) to backup my entire system as a fail-safe in my next step and subsequent periodic backups.
2. Flash Finless 1.5 or the latest incarnation. Doing this, I understand will also ROOT the device.
3. Install and test additional apps such as Office compatible, pdf viewer, and others.

My biggest task is to learn more about Android itself. Using this PC stick I need to know where files are backed up to, how to format the SD card, create folders on the SD care, move app icons to different pages, etc.

Many of these above issues may be second nature to some of you, but I’m a total newbie in the Android world.

If anyone has suggestions where to find documentation or FAQ’s that discuss newbie issues, please let me know.

I jumped in with both feet and need a bit of help to get educated in the sea of Android.

I hope your experiences with these devices are good ones.

Hi All,

New to the forum, was happy to find a dedicated forum for these little babies :-) I've ordered an MX@ + Mele F10 air mouse package today. Guess I'll just have to sit on my hands until it arrives. I hear mention of custom firmware, does anyone have any good links to firmware/tutorials? or would I be correct to assume it's just the same as the MK808?

Cheers
fS

EDIT: No worries on the links to firmware found them thanks. Just need to know if it's ok for MX2 as well?
