OK so I bought a MK802-II and the the MK808 came out and I bought it too.
The problem that I am seeing is that although the 802-II is a slower processor, single core, less memory, it has an older version of the OS, etc. It tends to work better than my 808.
The problem with 808 is that seems to burst and pause to catch up where as the 802 is rock solid. This is true for video, and audio. I would expect it to be the other way around. I looked around in the settings screen to see if there was some tuning I could do to allow me to change the buffering scheme. but I could not find anything. I am new to Android, although I am pretty familiar with Linux. How can I make the 808 stop the bursty behavior? Is this an issue with the OS version? I am streaming from the same PC so I know ( because the 802 works flawlessly ) that it is not the WiFi server.

Any help you can lend is much appreciated ( I have upgraded to the update_mk808_411_300j1_121026(rooted).rar firmware but it did not help).

I am running the same firmware as you with the mk808. Are your problems only pertaining to you streaming content from your PC to your mk808. How does other functionality work? If you plug in an external source i.e. usb flash drive or micro sd, directly into your mk808 how does it preform for you? Also how about youtube, netflix things playing directly from your MK808? I tried to set up streaming from my pc to my MK808 also and its performance was poor. That being said though I dont have alot of experience with that method of viewing my content. I simply put my media onto a USB stick or sd card and plug it into the MK808 and view it that way.

The problem seems to be related to streaming, I have the same problem with YouTube, Pandora, Netflix. It streams for 30 seconds and stops to refresh.
It is really annoying, specially since the less powerful unit works so well.
